“Coresonic has impressive technology and the market timing is nearly perfect to hit the window of opportunity for WiMax Multimode applications becoming mainstream in a couple of years. There is still work to be done, and Tim and I look forward to being helpful in ensuring the success of Coresonic,” says Alain Fanet.

Tim Unger added, “Coresonic’s unique patented architecture and LeoCore technology is optimized for baseband. It blends the advantages of programmability and flexibility with the reality of achieving a smaller die size and less power consumption than a fixed-function ASIC. I believe this technology is critical for the reduction in power consumption and miniaturization of equipment, and will speed the early certainty of the handheld digital video planet.”

Tim has successfully scaled a number of Silicon Valley start-ups while accelerating the launch of their dynamic businesses, ultimately leading to compelling liquidity events for company stakeholders. Among Tim’s most recent successes is TROPIAN, Inc. The Fabless semiconductor start-up provided multimode radio solutions addressing cellular & emerging 3G standards and has been folded through acquisition into the Panasonic wireless family. Tim currently serves on the board of Cydelity (just acquired by Digital Envoy) and advises 24Access and Skybox Security. Tim was an entrepreneur-in-residence with marquee Menlo Park, California venture firm U.S. Venture Partners, and also was senior vice president and corporate officer at San Jose-headquartered Cadence Design Systems.
