Varian Connects MRI and NMR Systems with RTI Messaging Middleware

Real-Time Innovations (RTI), The Real-Time Middleware Experts, announced that its high-performance messaging middleware has been selected for use in Varian's nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrometer and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) product lines. Conexant Creates Reference Designs for Cable Set-Top Box

Conexant Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CNXT), a worldwide leader in semiconductor solutions for broadband communications and the digital home, announced the availability of two complete, OpenCable(TM)-compliant cable set-top box (STB) reference designs for high-definition (HD) personal video recording (PVR) applications. The comprehensive reference designs are based on the company's recently announced CX2445X DOCSIS 2.0+ and EuroDOCSIS 2.0+ cable modem integrated circuits, and can be configured with either Conexant's CX24500 single-channel or CX2427X dual-channel HD MPEG-2/H.264/VC-1 video decoder. The highly integrated solutions also include core software and drivers that enable developers to quickly develop middleware and innovative applications for next-generation cable STBs.

Synapse Rolls Out SNAP ZigBee RF Module with 3 Mile Range

Synapse(R) introduced its RF Engine, a wireless module with a range of up to three miles that is used to power Synapse SNAP(TM) (Synapse Network Appliance Protocol(TM)) and ZigBee(R) wireless networks. The Synapse RF Engine(TM) is a small, low-power, plug-in RF transmitter-receiver module that can be used in conjunction with users' own devices or with Synapse's product line. The Synapse RF Engine is available in a variety of configurations: with or without amplification, with an internal (F) antenna or an external SMA antenna, and running SNAP or a full ZigBee stack.

CableLabs Certifies SMC EZ Connect Telephony Modem
