SDC Test Reduces Warranty Costs with Webinar

Posted by EDA Geek News Staff in Events, Training on Wednesday, April 18, 2007

SDC Test, the specialists in products for test data analysis and in-circuit test, will host a webinar on the 26th April at 3pm BST on the key subject of managing costs associated with RMA field returns using data mining tools. The cost associated with warranty returns is ever rising and can represent up to 4% of a company's turnover. Thus it is an area of increasing concern and management is regularly tasked with identifying ways of reducing it, as any improvement has a direct bearing on the bottom line on the balance sheet.

However, it is often the case that the data that shows where the costs are being incurred are either held in disparate data bases spread throughout the company's departments that cannot be cross referenced readily, or are not being recorded in a way that will allow the root cause of a recurring problem to be identified and the solution determined.

How to Reduce Warranty Costs WebinarSigmaQuest's RMA Insight technology from SDC Test assimilates data into a single database. SigmaQuest's RMA Insight can be easily integrated into a user's IT environment to access data held in multiple formats, ranging from existing databases to simple text-based forms, and it will operate effectively with leading ERP and MES packages.

The package includes the sophisticated analysis tools needed to provide interested parties within an organisation, from the shop floor, through QA, Test and Service and on to the Board members, with the information they need to make changes to reduce on-going costs.

This webinar will be of interest to a wide range of personnel in various disciplines within companies that have manufacturing and repair facilities located either in-house or outsourced. The session will include a live demonstration of the SigmaSure RMA Insight Module accessing and analysing data rapidly across the internet via a standard web browser.

SDC Test will also be exhibiting at the Cambridge engineering event, the Embedded Masterclass.
