SafeNet, Inc. (NASDAQ:SFNT), setting the standard for information security, and MontaVista Software, the leading provider of Linux for intelligent devices and communications infrastructure, announced a partnership to offer comprehensive security solutions for MontaVista Linux-based gateways and mobile VPN clients.

By combining QuickSec, the world’s first full mobility IPSec VPN toolkit, with MontaVista Linux and MontaVista Mobilinux operating systems, OEM developers will be able to build the most robust and current IPSec security standards, such as MOBIKE, into carrier-grade security gateways, network routers, as well as Mobile VPN devices and desktop VPN clients.

“SafeNet is an invaluable member of the MontaVista partner family,” said Bill Seawick, CMO, MontaVista Software. “SafeNet’s QuickSec security toolkits, coupled with our Linux and Mobilinux solutions offer our customers the most complete and proven solution for their VPN appliances, while reducing cost and time to market.”

MontaVista and SafeNet will be jointly demonstrating the IPSec security solution April 3 – 5, 2007 in MontaVista’s booth #1640 at the Embedded Systems Conference and Exhibition, being held at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California. The demonstration will show QuickSec running on the MontaVista Linux operating system, while showcasing the performance benefits of offloading cryptographic data to dedicated hardware.

“MontaVista’s Linux operating systems are deployed worldwide into a variety of gateways, multi-function printers, phones and other mobile devices,” said Bill Anderson vice president, encryption products, SafeNet. “Our engineering teams have worked very closely to guarantee that SafeNet’s IPSec security offerings integrate easily and seamlessly into each possible solution.
