The North American Components (NAC) business of Arrow Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: ARW) announced it has entered into an agreement with Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) to distribute PHYTEC Rapid Development Kits, powered by ADI’s Blackfin processor, to original equipment and contract manufacturers across North America. The Development Kits should enable manufacturers to differentiate their products and get them to market faster.

ADI’s Blackfin 16/32-bit embedded processor offers top performance and power efficiency for applications where a convergence of capabilities is important, including multi-format audio, video, voice and image processing; multi-mode baseband and packet processing; and real-time security and control processing. This combination of software flexibility and scalability has gained Blackfin widespread adoption in convergent applications such as digital home entertainment, networked and streaming media, automotive telematics and infotainment, digital radio and mobile TV.

The PHYTEC phyCORE-BF537 Rapid Development Kit includes an insert-ready subminiature SBC that can be used in all phases of embedded design, from evaluation to production, incorporating the essential circuitry common to all embedded applications. PHYTEC SBCs have been deployed in thousands of embedded designs, ranging from industrial control to medical, automotive, avionic and data processing applications.
