UK contract electronics manufacturer, Barric, has agreed to help sponsor the Cambridge Embedded Masterclass that will take place on the 3rd May. The Embedded Masterclass is an opportunity for electronic engineers to catch up with the latest events in microprocessor technology and the tools and software that are required to develop hi-tech products.
Barric is a leading European manufacturer of complex electronics and has a great deal of experience in the assembly of surface mount and BGA device based PCB’s. At the Embedded Masterclass, Barric will be exhibiting circuit boards such as an Xscale based board that drives a ‘text to speech product’ for those with impaired speech. Other products include broadcast audio systems, marine safety systems and a telematics system that is currently being rolled out for use in road haulage companies.
“We really like the idea behind the Embedded Masterclass,” said Karl Hain, Managing Director of Barric. “It will be a good opportunity for us to meet with engineers to discuss current industry issues such as the move to lead-free manufacturing. We’ve also invested in a lot of new manufacturing, rework and inspection technology especially for the microprocessor part of the market, so it will be a good chance for us to explain our new facilities and hopefully start some new relationships.”
Barric currently manufacture and rework products for some of the most recognised technology companies worldwide. Using high speed pick and place technology and 3D tilt and rotate X-Ray inspection technology, Barric has become recognised as a leader in this field, serving clients as far away as the US. Barric’s services range from the manufacturer of simple, low cost circuit boards right through to the complete manufacture of large complex electronic systems.
“Our preference is always to work with our clients from the design phase,” said Karl. “This way we can help our clients optimise the ‘manufacturability’ of the product and suggest changes that will also optimise robustness and reliability in the field. These are important issues and can have a big impact on the cost of manufacture and the overall project success. The Embedded Masterclass will give us the opportunity to discuss these kind of issues with engineers.”
There will be an agenda of presentations that discuss such issues as the development of graphical user interfaces, accelerating FPGA designs, managing software re-use and using ‘middleware’ to accelerate telecom development. In addition to this, there will be a tabletop exhibition of key embedded technology vendors presenting their latest technologies and engineers available to explain how this technology can be applied.
Over 700 engineers have registered for previous Embedded Masterclass events and it is now recognised as an important networking opportunity and a chance of for engineers to learn about what is new in embedded engineering. Registration is free for engineers and technology projects managers. However, seats for the presentations are limited, so early registration is recommended. Visit Embedded Masterclass for full details of the agenda, exhibition and registration.
Barric manufacture electronic products for large and small companies across the world. With 20 years of experience, investment and success, Barric are very much leaders in this field. Equipped with the latest surface mount manufacturing equipment, hi-tech inspection technology and a team of expert engineers, Barric work closely with ‘cutting edge’ development companies from early stage design right through to volume shipment. Whether it is simply the production of electronic assemblies or complete product manufacture, Barric provide one of the best facilities available in Europe.
