Innovasic Offers Replacement IC for Intel 386EX

Innovasic Semiconductor, a leader in replacement integrated circuit (IC) and microcontroller solutions, announced that they are going to provide a replacement IC for Intel's 386EX microcontroller. The 386EX will be offered in RoHS compliant 132-pin PQFP and 144-pin TQFP packages. This device will be 100 percent form, fit and function compatible with the original Intel product. Samples will be available in Q4, 2008.

"In our discussion with customers, we have found that there still is a high demand for the 386," said Datar Lalvani, VP of Marketing for Innovasic Semiconductor. "We are currently providing 100% compatible solutions for the 186 class of microcontrollers and view this as a logical extension to our x86 family of products."
