Kontron was recently awarded 2006 Venture Development Corporation (VDC) Platinum Vendor for Embedded Computer Boards. This year marks its third year in a row Kontron has received Platinum vendor status, the highest award VDC bestows upon companies after receiving the results of their annual customer satisfaction survey. Only two of the top five global vendors of Embedded Computer Boards received a “Platinum” vendor rating by VDC in their 2006 vendor rating awards.

Each year, VDC asks survey respondents to identify, from a list of 25, the five non-technical criteria they consider to be most important when selecting a board vendor. Respondents are then asked to identify up to five board vendors and rate each vendor on the five previously-selected “most important” criteria on a scale of 1 to 5. The most important criteria selected were: Product availability/delivery, price, reliable/ long-lived products, experience/relationship with vendor and meeting delivery schedules. For a third year in a row, overall Kontron scored extremely well by survey respondents for the above mentioned criteria.

“We are extremely proud to be awarded Platinum status - an honor and testament to Kontron’s continued focus and dedication to its customers,” said Hannes Niederhauser, Chief Executive Officer of Kontron AG. “Having received this award now for a 3rd year in a row, we will continue to strive, grow, and remain a customer driven manufacturer within the industry.”

Kontron continues to receive recognition for its contribution in the embedded computer industry as this award follows the company’s most recent honor of being named the 2006 Intel(R) Member of the Year.
