Wasabi Storage Builder Supports AMD Geode NAS RDK

Wasabi Systems announced its support for the AMD Geode(TM) Network Attached Storage (NAS) Reference Design Kit (RDK). Seamlessly integrated with the AMD RDK, the complete solution provides a secure, reliable storage environment for OEMs and VARs designing storage systems. The robust toolkit for AMD’s high-performance architecture facilitates the development of smaller footprint, lower cost, market-validated NAS solutions.

“The Wasabi/AMD collaboration will provide OEMs and resellers with the design requirements necessary to produce complete, high-performance, cost effective NAS solutions ideally suited to the consumer and SOHO market segments,” said Dave Jessel, storage segment manager, AMD. “The joint offering is designed to speed time to market while decreasing development costs, making it an exceptional option for meeting the sophisticated requirements of embedded storage designs.”

Wasabi Storage Builder for NAS combined with the AMD Geode LX NAS RDK provides an advanced starting point for the development of Web-accessible applications. Engineers benefit from a lightweight, object-oriented framework that can be easily understood, documented, extended or downscaled, and then re-used. Further, all utilized open source elements support the full branding and ownership of the resulting applications.

“Wasabi Storage Builder for NAS represents a best of breed combination of the Open Source software foundation and proprietary storage software,” said Wasabi President and CEO, Frank G. Logan, III. “When combined with the AMD Geode NAS RDK, the result is the most powerful and scalable NAS solution in its class.”
