Nangate Library Creator Speeds Cell Design for Ramtron
Nangate Inc., a leading provider of electronic design automation (EDA) software, announced that Ramtron International Corp. (NASDAQ: RMTR) has chosen Nangate’s Library Creator(TM) platform to accelerate development of specialized digital cell libraries for a wide range of integrated circuit (IC) applications.
“We apply the benefits of our proprietary ferroelectric random access memory (FRAM) technology to high-value integrated semiconductor products across a wide range of applications,” said Robert R. Djokovich, vice president of product realization at Ramtron. “With Nangate’s software, we are able to tape out designs with optimized digital cell libraries on demand for our process technologies, which will improve design cycle time and initial design success.”

The Nangate Library Creator enables design engineers to rapidly construct a complete set of DRC/LVS-correct logic and sequential cells in GDSII and LEF formats, optimized for area, speed and power. The Library Creator includes the Nangate Library Characterizer(TM) that automatically characterizes the constructed cells with function recognition, stimulus generation, characterization data, databook generator and closed-loop model validation. The Creator package includes Nangate SPICE and extraction engines and interfaces directly to industry-leading SPICE, DRC/LVS and parasitic extraction engines.
Availability and Pricing
Library Creator platform is available immediately and can be licensed in several packages starting at $60,000 for a one year time-based license of the characterization module. Professional services are also available to integrate these tools with customer-specific design flows and circuits.
