Ardence, a Citrix company and a leader in developing software platforms for the on-demand world, announced that the Device Edition of the Ardence Software-Streaming Platform meets stringent compliance requirements for interoperability with the Microsoft Windows Embedded for Point of Service (WePOS) platform.
The Device Edition passed the Windows Embedded for Point of Service Verification Test for Software Products which ensures that third-party software applications install and function smoothly on the Microsoft Windows Embedded POS platform.
“The VeriTest certification further strengthens our position as a market leader in enabling dynamic devices – devices that are easy to configure, deliver, manage, update, and secure. OEMS are guaranteed that an Ardence solution that reduces TCO, increases product reliability and system hardening will function with WePOS based systems,” said Stephen Woodard, Ardence Vice President, Product Line Executive, Embedded Products.
“Additionally, our engineering services team can make device integration seamless and simple through creation and optimization of customers images, virtual disk creation and systems testing,” Woodard said.
The Ardence Software-Streaming Platform virtualizes operating systems and applications and streams them on-demand from the network. Ardence software is widely used in desktop, data center and point of sale deployments.
Ardence was acquired last month by Citrix Systems Inc., (NASDAQ: CTXS) the global leader in application delivery infrastructure.
