NemeriX, a leading fabless semiconductor company specializing in ultra low power semiconductors and solutions for GPS and location-based services, announced that it has standardized its GPS testing activities on Spirent’s new ULTS-ADS Testing Platform, which is the industry’s premier development system designed specifically for optimizing the performance of A-GPS chipsets on mobile phones.
The Spirent UMTS Location Test System (ULTS) is the only commercially-available system that enables the full range of Assisted GPS (A-GPS) testing needs; from technology and chipset development, to design verification of GSM and UMTS devices and UMTS terminal certification, while also providing support for 3GPP Control Plane and OMA SUPL User Plane implementations.
NemeriX’s hosted GPS offerings are specifically designed for the wireless and mobile handset market, by combining unmatched power, performance and accuracy, with the industry’s smallest form factor. By working with Spirent, NemeriX is able to further enhance its latest solutions, ensuring even tighter integration with mobile devices – such as phones, PDAs or other Bluetooth enabled handheld devices – to deliver A-GPS capabilities across wide area networks.
“Every Spirent customer testing handsets is interested in GPS technologies, and we’re thrilled to see an industry-leading GPS chipset provider like NemeriX move so quickly to adopt our latest testing platform,” said Richard Catmur, business development manager at Spirent Communications. “We look forward to working with NemeriX to help them extend the quality of their solutions.”
“The reaction that our GPS products have received from customers, partners, and prospects has been truly outstanding – yet we continually strive to improve the quality and performance of our technology,” said Gianmaria Mazzucchelli, vice president of engineering for NemeriX. “Our adoption of Spirent’s testing technology complements a series of efforts we have in place to ensure that our offerings remain at the top of their class.”
Founded in April 2002, NemeriX S.A.
