Tundra Semiconductor Lowers Prices of Tsi148TM VME Bridge

Posted by EDA Geek News Staff in Components on Friday, January 5, 2007

Tundra Semiconductor Corporation (TSX:TUN), the leader in System Interconnect, has significantly lowered the price for all new orders of its Tsi148T VME Bridge. The Tsi148 is the industry's leading PCI/X-to-VME Bridge and the successful next-generation offering to the Tundra UniverseT II, the industry's best selling VME-to-PCI Bus Bridge for embedded systems customers.

Ideally suited for high reliability markets such as military, industrial and aerospace, the Tsi148 performs 2eSST transactions with up to 8 times the bandwidth speed of the previous generation VME technology. In addition to the high speed performance of the device, the Tsi148 uses about half the power and 68% less board area than Tundra's previous generation product the Universe II. Backed by reliable supply, short lead-times and exceptional customer service and support, the Tsi148 now offers new VME system designs the functionality and benefits of high bandwidth, lower power and a smaller board footprint.

Pricing and Availability
The Tundra Tsi148 is available through Tundra's sales network and online. Volume pricing starts at $185 USD. The Tsi148 is available in standard or lead-free RoHS compliant packaging, and commercial or industrial grade temperature rating. The Tsi148 is fully backwards compatible, and can perform VME 64-bit, or 2e, or 2eSST transactions on the VME side and PCI 33 MHz, or PCI 66 MHz or PCI-X 133 MHz transactions on the other.
