Gleichmann Showcases NEC 16-Bit and 32-Bit All Flash MCUs

Gleichmann & Co. Electronics GmbH will present NEC Electronics' newest All Flash(TM) devices in Hall 12, Booth 466 at embedded world 2007 in Nuremberg, 13-15 February 2007. The latest devices offer up to twice the memory and a significant increase in pin counts compared to previous devices. They include new 32-bit MCUs of the V850ES/Fx3, V850ES/Sx3 and V850ES/Jx3 series with up to 1 megabyte of flash memory and more than 20 new 16-bit 78K0R/Kx3 MCUs with up to 512 kilobytes of on-chip flash memory.

Amedia Networks Selects Fujitsu MPEG Encoder, Decoder Technology

Fujitsu Microelectronics America (FMA), a leader in MPEG-based entertainment technology, announced that Amedia Networks, Inc., a provider of next-generation residential media gateways, is using the Fujitsu MPEG encoder and decoder technology in its new wireless audio-video transmitter and receiver systems. The new systems will be demonstrated at the 2007 International CES January 8- 11 in Las Vegas, Fujitsu booth number 70809. Fujitsu and Amedia also plan to complete a High Definition (HD) solution by using the new H.264 (High Profile, level 4.0) CODEC device. The Amedia design will also be demonstrated in the Fujitsu booth.

Silicon Image, Genesis Microchip Settle Patent Licensing Lawsuit

Silicon Image, Inc. (Nasdaq: SIMG), a leader in semiconductors for the secure storage, distribution and presentation of high-definition content, announced it has signed a settlement and license agreement with Genesis Microchip Inc., which includes provisions for ongoing royalty licensing revenue for Silicon Image on DVI and HDMI products, resolving an outstanding patent matter between the two companies. As a result of this agreement, Silicon Image will record a one-time catch-up of previously earned royalties and a partial recovery of patent assertion costs in its fourth quarter ending Dec. 31, 2006.
