Chipworks Completes Dual-Foundry Study of Xilinx 65nm Virtex-5 FPGA

Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ: XLNX) the world’s leading FPGA company, announced that Chipworks (ON, Canada), the industry leader in reverse engineering and analysis of semiconductor chips and systems, has completed an in-depth technical study of twin samples of the Xilinx 65-nm XC5VLX50 Virtex(TM)-5 FPGA, manufactured by foundry partners Toshiba and UMC. Based upon structural analyses and DC transistor characterization (to compare the impact of structure on performance), Chipworks has concluded that 65-nm devices manufactured by either foundry meet high-performance Virtex-5 specifications.

LitePoint Launches IQmax One-Box WiMAX Test System

LitePoint Corporation, an industry leading provider of advanced wireless test solutions, announces the market release of the tri-band version of the IQmax one-box test system. Analog Devices Files Patent Infringement Lawsuit Against Silicon Labs

Analog Devices, Inc. (NYSE: ADI), a global leader in high-performance semiconductors for signal processing applications, announced that it has filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, in Boston, against Silicon Laboratories Inc (Nasdaq: SLAB). The complaint alleges that Silicon Labs’ Si84xx family of products infringe multiple U.S. patents addressing physical construction and signaling techniques related to ADI’s iCoupler(R) digital isolation products, and that SiLabs datasheets infringe the copyright on ADI datasheets for the iCoupler products. The complaint seeks unspecified damages and a court-ordered injunction against future infringement by Silicon Labs. In addition to its U.S. patents, Analog Devices has corresponding patent applications related to its digital isolation products pending in several countries.
