Elma Electronic Offers Lightpipes in Multiple Colors

Posted by EDA Geek News Staff in Components on Thursday, December 28, 2006

Elma Electronic, a leading designer and manufacturer of rotary components and electronic packaging products, now offers lightpipes in a wide range of colors. The LEDs transfer light to the front panel with a translucent, but intense coloration of the lightpipe.

The variable lightguides are available in protruding styles or versions that are mounted flush with the front panel. The lightpipes are visible and can emit light even embedded deeper within a panel. They also have a chamfered light coupling area, which allows other LEDs to emit light perpendicular to the circuit board. ESD resistance for the lightpipes reaches 10 kV at a length of 4.5 mm and increases by approximately 1 kV per additional mm of length.

Elma's lightpipes come in 1-10 wide options. The line has expanded over time from only a 10-width version to 1-10 widths. Various combinations of single, dual, vertical, and horizontal configurations are available. With Elma's modular tooling techniques and 40 years of experience in electronics, the company can customize configurations more efficiently.

The lead-time is 4 weeks ARO.
