Connect One Receives Recognition with M2M 100 Directory

Posted by Ken Cheung in Other on Wednesday, December 13, 2006

Connect One(TM), the Device Networking Authority(TM), has been named to the M2M Magazine M2M 100 for 2007. The M2M 100 is a list of the most important and influential machine-to-machine (M2M) technology providers. Connect One manufactures semiconductors and device servers that facilitate reliable and robust Internet connectivity for M2M applications.

The M2M 100 directory provides a snapshot of the M2M market as it exists today and highlights the companies with the greatest impact on its direction. The editors of M2M Magazine and its advisory board selected the M2M 100 finalists based on the leadership and impact a company is having in the marketplace.

Connect One has established itself as a major player in the M2M industry by being the leading supplier of Internet Protocol (IP) controller(TM) chips for the point-of-sale (POS) terminal market. With over 1,000,000 iChip(TM) IP controller chips deployed in more than 50 countries—many of them also installed in medical devices, security systems, and fleet management terminals—Connect One is a major contributor to the widespread adoption of IP-based communication in M2M applications. Connect One’s field-proven embedded chips, modules and external device servers enable manufacturers of any kind of non-PC device to easily, quickly and cost-effectively add IP connectivity to new and existing devices.

“Reliable and secure connectivity is essential for M2M applications,” noted Peggy Smedley, publisher and editorial director of M2M Magazine. “Connect One’s iChip is an excellent example of off-the-shelf embedded hardware that can be customized to the specific needs of an industry and hasten the industry’s adoption of the latest technology.”

“Connect One’s position as a technology leader in the M2M space has been acknowledged by our customers for a long time,” said Alan Singer, Connect One vice president of sales and marketing. “We are honored that M2M Magazine, the leading publication about M2M applications, also has acknowledged this by naming Connect One to the M2M 100.”
