At this year’s IBC in Amsterdam Spycer(TM), the innovative software by DVS, was strongly sought after. This intense demand has prompted DVS to offer a basic version to anyone being interested in the new data manager. The free version allows full browsing and search capabilities. It is possible to search data locally as well as via the network depending on how many Spycer(TM) applications are available.
Free installation is guaranteed and it is expected that the user will quickly appreciate the smooth operation of Spycer(TM). The software provides “distributed content management” since it neither requires a central server nor a central storage. The Windows-based software Spycer(TM) runs on every commercial computer.
Already the new software has received an accolade. The renowned magazine TVBEurope announced Spycer(TM) to be one of 25 products having been awarded the coveted TVBEurope Editor’s Pick of Show award from IBC 2006. Their panel of experts prized out the most intelligent, most innovative and most cost-effective offerings from IBC’s 1000+ technology vendors. Spycer(TM) is now placed in this hall of fame since the data manager fulfils the jury’s requirements: to push the boundaries of technical excellence whilst creating optimum support for the end-user.
Spycer(TM) is now ready for download at the DVS website. Hans-Ulrich Weidenbruch, Managing Director at DVS: „Already ahead of the IBC it became apparent how interested the industry is in this new software. Numerous questions and ideas from the IBC visitors have motivated us to launch Spycer(TM) to the market as soon as possible.”
In addition to the free stand alone version, Spycer(TM) will be available as a full version in all DVS products. The software will be an integral part of the finishing solution CLIPSTER(R) 2.2 and the digital disk recorders Pronto2K.2 and ProntoHD.2 as well as the central storage DVS-SAN. Spycer(TM) will be delivered in addition as a free update to DVS storage systems.
The software and hardware manufacturer DVS is based in Hanover, Germany and Los Angeles, USA and has achieved sustained success in 2006. In addition to its award-winning DI workstation CLIPSTER(R) DVS has presented another milestone in its software development: at NAB 2006 DVS unveiled the innovative data manager Spycer(TM). In the same year a new line of disk recorders came to market: Pronto2K.2 and ProntoHD.2 enable real-time multi-resolution capture and play-out combined with full conforming. The company has a large OEM customer base, too: numerous leaders in the industry integrate DVS’ powerful video I/O boards into their own products. Moreover, DVS has teamed up with ARRI, Kodak, Imagica and The Mill.
