Trolltech Creates Qtopia Greensuite for Linux-Based Mobile Phones

Trolltech(R), the company that makes software faster to build and easier to use, announced a new development initiative, Qtopia(R) Greensuite. The Initiative actively addresses reducing a manufacturer’s time to market and the technology fragmentation issues of today’s Linux mobile phone market. The first software suite announced from the Initiative is Qtopia Greensuite #1, created specifically for high-end smart phone development.

TI Unveils 12-bit, 500 MSPS Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC)

Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN) introduced a monolithic 12-bit, 500 MSPS (mega samples per second) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) providing unmatched size and performance. The new pipeline ADC offers 64.5 dBFS signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) up to 500 MHz input frequency at 500 MSPS, bringing a new class of performance to customers previously confined to 8- and 10-bits of resolution. In a space-saving 14 mm x 14 mm package, the new ADC meets the resolution and speed requirements of applications such as communications, amplifier linearization, test and measurement instrumentation, software-defined radio and radar and imaging systems.

Pinnacle Data Systems to Acquire Aspan Computer Repair Laboratories

Pinnacle Data Systems, Inc. (PDSi) (AMEX: PNS), announced it has executed a non-binding letter of intent to acquire the stock of privately held Aspan Computer Repair Laboratories B.V. (Aspan), located near Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Terms of the transaction were not announced. Aspan will become an integral part of PDSi’s global infrastructure following completion of the acquisition, which is expected to occur early in 2007.

The EBS 1300 supports multiple resolution types while offering remote wake up capability, making it suitable for a multitude of digital signage applications within the transportation industry, including train stations, buses and airports. (NASDAQ:WIND), the global leader in Device Software Optimization (DSO), announced that Barco, a Belgium-based specialist for display and visualization solutions, has selected Wind River(R) Platform for Safety Critical ARINC 653 to support the MOSArt modular open system architecture. MOSArt is a hardware platform developed by Barco for the development and operation of real-time display solutions in aircrafts.

Elma Introduces Type 39 2U EasyPlug CompactPCI Chassis

Elma Electronic Inc., a global manufacturer of electronic packaging products, announced a new Type 39 2U EasyPlug CompactPCI enclosures. The Type 39c HA line features 9U cPCI backplanes from Elma Bustronic that include pluggable 47-pin connectors for hot-swapping power supplies. There are also pluggable fan tray headers and optional shelf management modules. Redundancy options can be built-in with all of these components. The backplanes are available in standard cPCI, H.110, or PICMG 2.16 options.
