QNX Extends License for Bitstream's Font Fusion Technology

Bitstream, Inc., (NASDAQ: BITS) announced that QNX Software Systems has extended its licensing agreement with the company. Under this new agreement, QNX has extended its license for Bitstream's Font Fusion technology. Font Fusion offers exceptional text rendering for mission-critical embedded systems based on the QNX(R) Neutrino(R) realtime operating system (RTOS). This agreement is the twelfth agreement between the two companies.

Mentor Graphics Unveils Calibre nmOPC Optical Proximity Correction Tool

Mentor Graphics Corporation (Nasdaq: MENT) announced availability of Calibre(R) nmOPC, a third-generation optical proximity correction (OPC) tool that expands the Calibre arsenal of resolution enhancement technology (RET) products for sub-65 nanometer (nm) process technologies. The Calibre nmOPC tool and the companion OPC verification tool, Calibre OPCverify(TM) (announced earlier this year), usher in a new era of computational lithography by delivering superior simulation accuracy with the highest performance and lowest cost of ownership in the industry.

Mercury Computer, Mentor to Create First Cell BE Processor Platform

Mercury Computer Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: MRCY) announced it has signed a strategic agreement with Mentor Graphics to jointly develop and deliver a fully integrated electronic design automation (EDA) platform. The platform is based on the Cell Broadband Engine(TM) (BE) processor developed originally by IBM, Sony, and Toshiba for the Sony Playstation(R) 3 video game console and other consumer electronics devices.

Zarlink, Embedded Planet Team on Pseudowire Module for Packet Networks

Zarlink Semiconductor (NYSE/TSX:ZL) announced that it has partnered with Embedded Planet to develop a pseudowire module that reduces the design time and complexity of networking equipment supporting TDM services over packet-based networks. The pseudowire module targets low-density applications requiring TDM-over-packet capability, including customer premise routers, integrated access devices, PON (Passive Optical Network) equipment, and broadband DLCs (digital loop carriers).

STMicroelectronics Debuts Real-Time Clock with EEPROM, Embedded Crystal
