Amplicon, QNX Partner for Integrated Industrial Control Solutions

Posted by Ken Cheung in Industrial,RTOS on Thursday, November 16, 2006

Amplicon has enhanced its range of embedded computing solutions by partnering with QNX Software Systems, a market leader in the design and supply of real-time operating system software, development tools, and services for embedded applications.

With the introduction of Amplicon’s new Impact-E range of industrial computers the partnership with QNX was an obvious step in the development of a total solution package for system integrators and OEMs. Working hand-in-hand with QNX, Amplicon will provide embedded developers with a comprehensive range of integrated, time-saving embedded solutions.

Richard Munson, Amplicon’s Industrial Computing Senior Sales Engineer commented: “This partnership is great news for our customers. It places Amplicon clearly at the forefront of the embedded market.”

“The QNX Neutrino RTOS offers a fault-tolerant, dynamically upgradeable architecture engineered for mission-critical, 24/7 applications. As a result, it offers the ideal software platform for Amplicon’s rugged industrial computers,” said Linda Campbell, Director of Strategic Alliances at QNX Software Systems. “As a result of this alliance, Amplicon’s customers can now leverage QNX technology field-tested in everything from nuclear reactors to the Space Shuttle.”

QNX will be supporting Amplicon at Electronica 2006 (Stand 746, Hall A6) where the new Impact-E and Ventrix-W will be unveiled. Full consultancy from Amplicon will be offered as standard with all embedded applications.
