Tundra Rolls Out Tsi340 32-bit Small Form-Factor PCI-to-PCI Bridge

Tundra Semiconductor Corporation (TSX:TUN), the leader in System Interconnect, offers customers a high quality, small form-factor PCI-to-PCI bridge, backed by world-class service and support. The bridge is ideally suited for communications and networking equipment, video capture cards, embedded video recorders, multi-function printers, and network interface cards. The new Tsi340(TM) targets both new designs and existing board footprints that use 32-bit 66 MHz PCI-to-PCI bridges, and offers customers a high quality alternative to competitive offerings. Tundra offers customers short lead times, reliable supply and exceptional customer service and support.

The Tsi340 is an industry-standard, low power, 32-bit 66 MHz synchronous PCI-to-PCI bridge fully compliant with PCI Local Bus Specification Revision 2.3. Available in a 128-pin, 23 x 17mm PQFP package, the device has sufficient clock and arbitration pins to directly support four PCI bus master devices for a wide range of applications.

The addition of the Tsi340 expands Tundra’s portfolio of proven, high-performance, low-cost PCI and PCI-X bridges. “With the addition to the 32-bit PCI bridge offering, Tundra demonstrates continued leadership in the System Interconnect market by providing customers with a growing portfolio of PCI products,” said Rick O’Connor, Chief Technology Officer at Tundra Semiconductor. “The Tsi340 offers customers a quality bridge solution at a competitive price, backed by Tundra’s world-class customer support and service.”

Broadening Tundra’s PCI, PCI-X and PCI Express(R) Bridge Portfolio
In May 2006 Tundra acquired the assets of the Systems Solution Business Unit of Alliance Semiconductor. The acquisition included intellectual property and several products both in production and under development, including the Tsi340. In addition to the benefit of adding products already under development, including; PCI Express(R), HyperTransport(TM) and PCI bridge products, Tundra gained two highly experienced and innovative teams in Santa Clara, CA and Hyderabad, India. The launch of the Tsi340 is the second step in the development of, and long-term strategy for, the Tundra PCI, PCI-X and PCI Express Bridge portfolio.

Availability and Design Support Tools
The Tsi340 32-bit PCI-to-PCI Bridge will be available for sampling in March 2007. High volume pricing is under $6.00USD. The device is produced in a 128-PQFP package. The bridge is drop-in, pin-for-pin and software compatible with industry-standard PCI bridges. The device is 3.3V I/O and 5V tolerant.

About Tundra PCI, PCI-X and PCI Express(R) Bridges
The Tundra PCI and PCI-X System Interconnect portfolio offers customers a wide range of proven, high-performance, low power PCI and PCI-X bridges. Tundra’s PCI, PCI-X and PCI Express bridge roadmap reflects an investment and commitment to addressing current and future needs of PCI-based designs. To allow interoperation with new PCI Express root complexes and legacy PCI/X endpoints, Tundra will offer PCI Express to PCI/X bridges. The PCI/X/e bridge family will continue to grow with variants that offer system designers numerous I/O connectivity options. In addition, Tundra’s leadership and market expertise in other interconnects such as RapidIO(R) will be critical to the seamless integration of different standards into new architectures based around high speed serial system interconnects.
