Genesys Testware and Magma(R) Design Automation (Nasdaq: LAVA), a provider of semiconductor design software, today announced an automated design-for-test (DFT) solution that integrates Genesys’ ArraytestMaker(TM) test, diagnosis and repair solution into Magma’s Blast Create(TM) physical synthesis design flow, simplifying the overall flow by removing the need to import and export design data into Blast Create. Genesys and Magma will demonstrate this solution at the International Test Conference Oct. 24-26 in Santa Clara, in Booth #118.
eSilicon Corporation, the industry’s leading supplier of custom integrated circuits (ICs), has successfully incorporated the Genesys-Magma DFT solution into the physical design of a 3.2-million-cell, 500 Mhz device. The Genesys-Magma solution provided eSilicon rapid turnaround for memory BIST insertion and optimized area and performance of the BIST logic.

The Genesys-Magma solution provides automated insertion of circuits to optimize yield and quality of embedded memory. This automated insertion is performed during synthesis within the Blast Create RTL-to-placed gates flow. The Tcl interface to Magma’s unified data model is used to create synthesis scripts for automated insertion inside the ArraytestMaker software. By streamlining the interoperability and increasing automation, the Genesys-Magma solution eliminates extra steps and accelerates the design flow.
