(Nasdaq:LAVA), a provider of semiconductor design software, today announced that PLX Technology, the leading supplier of PCI Express(R) (PCIe) and other standard input/output (I/O) interconnect, implemented the PLX(R) ExpressLane(TM) PEX 8548 — the industry’s first 48-lane, nine-port PCIe switching device that PLX introduced recently — using Magma’s RTL-to-GDSII integrated circuit (IC) design solution. With Magma’s Blast Create(TM) synthesis, Blast Plan(TM) Pro prototyping and floor-planning, Blast Fusion(R) physical design, Blast Noise(R) signal integrity, and Blast Power(TM) low-power design software, PLX was able to achieve design closure on the complex, multimillion-gate switch. PLX cited Magma’s advanced technology and world-class support as an important element in the switch’s design success.
