MagnaChip Semiconductor Ltd., a leading global designer, developer and manufacturer of image sensor solutions, mixed-signal and digital multimedia semiconductors, today, announced the launch of its optimized Passive Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode (PMOLED), the D53C4EP7003 (EP7003) product designed for use in the sub-displays of mobile phones and displays of MP3 players.
The unique EP7003 solution supports 96×96 resolution, 262,000 colors and various system interfaces, including RGB and VSYNC. The EP7003 display module thickness is smaller in size, reducing the response speed over many TFT and CSTN products on the market today. MagnaChip’s EP7003 is also optimized so that developers can easily program the gamma setting.
Davis Mok, Vice President of Marketing in MagnaChip’s Display Solutions Division, commented, “In today’s marketplace, many existing PMOLED solutions fall behind TFT and CSTN in terms of price competitiveness. However, our EP7003′s package type is COG, offering cost competitiveness compared with CSTN and TFT products. Additionally, our latest solution has a simple gamma structure.”
The EP7003 is currently available with planned mass production in Q4 2006.
