WIN Enterprises, Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of embedded controllers and platforms for OEMs, announces WIN CAP (PL-01026), a Converged Application Platform for IP PBX and other converged applications, Built on standards-based Intel(R) building blocks, the Converged Application Platform is based on an Intel(R) reference design that Intel developed with WIN Enterprises. WIN now offers the manufacture of the new platform in quantity for TEMs, OEMs, System Integrators, and VARs, to provide them with fast-time-to-market with an economical, next generation platform for VoIP, IP PBX, and other converged applications.

By integrating Intel(R) Architecture processors for data processing and Intel(R) network processors, WIN CAP provides a single point of network connectivity that supports a broad range of network functions: Ethernet Switch, Router/Firewall/VPN, QoS device, WAN access device, Wi-Fi AP, Analog Telephone Adaptor, and Application Server. WIN CAP uses the low power Intel(R) Pentium M(R) processor and Intel(R) 915GM Express Chipset to handle data-intensive functions and software applications. The IXP465 network processor manages IP and LAN traffic, buffering traffic for transcoding by the Intel Pentium M processor. This advanced load-balancing infrastructure enables feature-rich, ultra-low latency converged communications at an economical cost.

Software Options
WIN CAP supports IP, PSTN, Wi-Fi, WAN and LAN protocols. Software options provide feature-rich, secure IP PBX:
- Intel NetStructure(R) Host Media Processing (HMP) delivers scalable, high-quality voice, data, and video
- Intoto(R) provides network security
- Open-source Asterisk(R) software provides a feature-rich IP PBX functions
- Linux operating system (other operating systems may be supported upon request)
Hardware Features
A wide selection of enterprise clients are supported, including, SIP phones, analog handsets, laptops, personal computers, and personal wireless devices.

Evaluation units are available now with production volumes available in November 2006. Evaluation unit price for the hardware platform only is $1,995 with quantity discounts available. Pricing will vary with customer's software requirements.
