LSI, Micronas Create ATSC Integrated Digital TV Reference Design

LSI Logic Corporation (NYSE: LSI) and Micronas (SWX Swiss Exchange: MASN) today announced the availability of a qualified reference design that provides all of the functionality required for a high-quality, feature-rich, flat-panel integrated digital TV (IDTV). The reference design gives TV manufacturers a stable, proven platform that enables them to quickly and cost effectively get to market with a range of ATSC IDTVs.

ZyXEL Selects TI VoIP for Next-Generation Access Devices, IP Phones

Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE:TXN) announced today that ZyXEL Communications Corp. (TSE:2391), the world's largest residential gateway provider, has chosen TI's Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) products for its voice–enabled DSL access devices, VoIP gateways and IP phones. TI's complete, integrated customer premises equipment (CPE) silicon and software solutions are optimized for solution density, and incorporate TI's programmable digital signal processor (DSP)-based series of access communications processors and field-proven Telogy Software(TM) for VoIP. The first IP phones with TI's chipset, V501D-T1 and V300, will be available at CeBIT 2007. Prior to that, ZyXEL will roll out its high-port density VoIP gateway, P2024.

RONETIX Adds NAND FLASH Programming to PEEDI JTAG Emulator and Programmer

Ronetix today announced the availability of the new firmware of its high speed, low cost JTAG Emulator and Flash Programmer for ARM7, ARM9 and XScale based micro controllers. The new firmware adds support of direct programming NAND FLASH memory connected to an ARM or an XSCALE MCU. This unique feature enables the easy use of NAND FLASH memory as a boot device. PEEDI supports 8 and 16 bit NAND chips up to 8Gbit. There is also a bad block management, which handles the bad blocks during programming and enables PEEDI to forcibly mark blocks as bad or healthy.
