Allegro Rolls Out Real-time MPEG-2 to H.264/MPEG-4 AVC Transcoders

Posted by Ken Cheung in Components on Wednesday, August 23, 2006

Allegro announces the immediate availability of its real-time MPEG-2 to H.264/MPEG-4 AVC transcoders: AL2000 and AL2010 for the IPTV and Mobile TV markets.

Transcoding operations include audio and video transcoding, format conversion, frame rate conversion and ancillary data management.

Thanks to their higher level of integration, transcoders save space, power consumption, and simplify monitoring and maintenance. Moreover the integration of decoding and encoding functions avoids unnecessary format conversion (color space, resize) ensuring an optimal video quality.

In addition to its transcoders, Allegro also offers real-time H.264/MPEG-4 AVC encoders for the IPTV and Mobile TV markets, providing operators with a complete solution for H.264/MPEG-4 AVC coding.

Allegro products can be seen at IBC on booth 2.327.
