Continuing its commitment to develop the fullest line of industry-leading hazardous classified area displays, Kontron today announced the Kontron Triton Z2 display workstation. The Kontron Triton Z2 offers a powerful, cost-effective solution for the oil and gas industry and carries the ATEX Zone 2 / C1 D2 certification. Providing superior protection with an IP56 rating, it offers enhanced processing power, strong safe area protection enhancements and rugged features designed to deliver optimum, reliable performance in hazardous environments.
For maximum computing performance, the Kontron Triton Z2 features Centrino-based Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor technology. It also offers a 15-inch full sunlight viewable display with EnhancedInfrared(TM) touch-screen technology that features false-trigger intelligence for increased productivity. Kontron is the only manufacturer to offer this unique touch-screen design that allows decoupling of the touch-screen from the LCD. The unique modular design also has easily serviceable subassembly units that greatly shorten repair time resulting in excellent reliability and the highest average uptime in the industry.
The Z2 workstation is the result of three years of engineering efforts and represents a paradigm shift in the oil and gas exploration and drilling services industry. In contrast to former systems, which needed extensive additional elements to be explosion-proof, the enclosure and modules of the Triton Z2 already integrate this feature. said Norbert Hauser Vice President Marketing of Kontron.
The Kontron Triton Z2 continues the company’s leadership legacy for the offshore and land-based oil and gas well logging, rig floor instrumentation and mud logging applications. The Kontron Z2 is part of the Triton product line, which has made a positive impact on the oil and gas service industry. Hundreds of units are already operating in a very tough, hazardous environment.
The Kontron Triton Z2 workstation is now available.
