Chipworks Presents Status of Engineered Subtrates at Semicon West

Chipworks Senior Technical Analyst, Dick James, will present "The Status of Engineered Subtrates" at the engineered substrates session of the Device Scaling TechXPOT on Tuesday July 11, 2006 at 2:35 pm. The presentation will take place in the North Hall at the Moscone Centre in San Francisco.

Mr. James' presentation includes a brief discussion of the different types of engineered substrate wafers, and a review of 90- and 65-nm transistor structures seen by Chipworks in the last two years. Specific reference will be made to the types of silicon strain used by the chip manufacturers to improve transistor performance.

Other companies represented at this TechXPOT stage include: Atlas Technologies, Freescale Semiconductor, MEMC, SiGen, and Soitec.
