RadiSys® Corporation (NASDAQ: RSYS) introduced the high performance RMS420-5000XI embedded server featuring two Dual-Core Intel(R) Xeon(R) 5140 processors. The new server is unique because it provides superior performance for either high through-put data processing, high performance image processing with very high resolution graphics display, or applications that require both. Energy-efficient Dual-Core Intel Xeon processors drive the new embedded server, which consumes less power than many competing general-purpose servers. The RMS420-5000XI is a long-life embedded server designed with state-of-the-art components and a rigorous change control process to ensure ‘no surprise’ platform stability and eliminate frequent re-qualification cycles. The high-performance dual-processor server uniquely includes PCI-Express x16 to support the high-end graphics cards required for the highest resolution display of images. The new server will be used in many demanding data and graphics processing applications such as medical image processing and display (x-ray, ultrasound, MRI, CT, etc.), military, industrial machine vision, test and measurement, signal processing, and 3D and 4D (moving 3D) image display.
